Rolleiflex Pop Art by Jean-Francois Dupuis
The 20th century is when cameras really found their way into the hands of the masses. Camera technology in 1900 versus 2000 couldn’t be further apart, but there’s still a lot of love for the early technology. Rolleiflex was a high end and long running camera line from a German company, Rollei. The twin lens reflex camera had two lenses, one for exposing the film and one for the viewfinder. The style of the camera alone is enough to remember it by with all its chrome and dials, it would be a beauty without its function.
In this great print, it’s presented in the Pop Art style, which is also a very 20th century phenomenon. The Pop Art movement was born in the 1950s and produced such greats as Andy Warhol. Its wonderful to see art that still follows this style! Great print whether you love vintage cameras, that vibrant pop art feel, or better yet, both!
