Pelican Diner

Vintage print - Pelican Diner - St Pete Florida

Vintage Roadside - Pelican Diner

This is a vintage postcard print of a diner that once stood in St. Petersburg, Florida.  The Pelican Diner was a aluminum and steel mobile restaurant that sat on Gulf Boulevard for the last half of the 20th century.  It opened in 1951 and closed in 2001.  Ultimately, the diner was purchased and put in storage in 2005, making way for new development.  At last report, awaiting restoration with plans to make it accessible to the public once more.
We’re so fortunate to have prints like this when the original article is gone or moved.  Imagine dining with the family in this beautiful building!  A great image to remember old times.
