Sleeping At The Southern Motel

This road sign is near a motel on the outskirts of Cordele, Georgia.  The last I heard the motel is now gone but the sign is still there, covered in vines.  This is probably one that will be gone entirely before long.

I remember well what it was like to stay in these little road side motels even though these mom and pop places were on the way out already when I came along.  Probably a result of many trips to see family in south Alabama.   They certainly had a style all their own as evidenced by signs like this.

Obviously, I did a little photoshop magic to this to emphasize the color of the sign and the age of it.
